“It is with a heavy heart that I can confirm three of the six young people involved in the early Sunday multi-fatal crash were SMJUHSD students. One attended PVHS, another attended SMHS and the third was enrolled in a Delta High School program but previously attended PVHS. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends, and school communities. Counseling services will remain available throughout the week. Please respect the privacy of everyone related to this horrible incident,’’ said SMJUHSD Public Information Officer Kenny Klein.

The tragedy occurred Sunday morning at 1:40am at the intersection of Broadway/Highway 135/S. Miller. The vehicle struck a utility pole.
