Utah 1-week Itinerary🏜️

Day 1: Drive from Salt Lake City to Hanksville (4 hours drive) Visit factory butte and sunset at moonscape overlook. It’s an out worldly like Moon and Mars. Best places to stay? Hanksville, UT.

Day 2: Drive to the temple of the Sun and Moon for sunrise and do the Cathedral Valley Loop. Next stop Sunset at Mars Desert Research Station to see the Bentonite hills. Go before sunset and stay after it sets to see the colors change.

Day 3: See the Long D**g Silver (Lone spire).
Leave for Capital Reef National Park. Do Cassidy Arch Hike 3hrs hike (3.1 miles). Other great hikes include Chimney Rock, Hickman Natural Bridge, Cohab Canyon and Sulphur Creek Waterfalls. If you are not into hiking, there are plenty drive to viewpoints like Panorama Point, Sunset Point, The Fluted Wall, and Slickrock Divide. Stargaze at night if the weather permits.

Day 4: Drive to Peek-a-boo and spooky slot canyons. Enjoy the bizarre rock formation and walk through the slot canyons. Check the weather and road conditions. Next stop Grand Staircase Escalante-hike the Lower Calf Creek Falls (6 miles | easy | 3 hours). Stay in Escalante.

Day 5: Leave for Zion National Park. DO Court of Patriarchs (0.2 miles), Lower/Upper Emeralds Pool and narrows hike (0.6/1.5 miles | 1-1.5 hrs - a very different water hike).

Day 6: Leave for Springville and do the Fifth Water Hot Springs hike - 3 hours drive. Hidden hot springs in the midst of Utah. Drive back to Salt Lake City and stay here.

Day 7: Leave for Bonneville Salt Flats early before sunrise (1.5-hour drive). Next stop Stansbury Island and Near Spiral Jetty to see the reddest lake present.

I put together this 1-week of Utah itinerary to help you plan an epic road trip! If you aren’t coming with your own car, book a high clearance rental car. It’s not needed everywhere but it’s good to have one. This is perfect for travelers who want to see as much as possible in 1 week.

Drop a comment if you want detailed “coordinates” of places in Hansville🗺️. Google maps can be tricky.
Comment “Hotels” if you want stay recommendations and ill DM it to you🏨

Our 10 best moments captured from our trip in UTAH!

There is so much more to Utah than just its national parks!
Our 1st trip together in the US was Utah and we still can’t stop raving about it. We were amazed and shocked as to how a place like this exists on earth. As beautiful as it is, it’s also weirdly wonderful in its own way! We’ve been telling our friends to visit and haven’t been able to shut up since! We absolutely loved our time in Utah.

Here are the spots:
📍Bentonite Hills
📍Great Salt Lake
📍Factory Butte
📍Moonscape Overlook
📍Lone Spire
📍Lower Calf Creek Falls
📍Cassidy Arch Trail
📍Capital Reef National Park

As much as we want everyone to visit, it’s also important to maintain it. So let’s keep it that way! As you explore, remember to Leave No Trace—pack out what you pack in, stay on marked trails, and respect the land. Nature gives us so much; let’s give back by keeping it clean and wild for generations to come!
