On November 13th, from 2 to 4 p.m., students gathered in front of the UVU Library for the second protest against a proposed memorial for Charlie Kirk. These statements reflect the views of the students we interviewed and do not represent the views of the UVU Review.

After a life spent running marathons and climbing Utah’s peaks, UVU nursing student Alex Perry faced her toughest challenge yet! A diagnosis of terminal grade 4 brain cancer.

Since her diagnosis in February, Alex has turned to social media to share her recovery and inspire others through her resilience. Despite ongoing treatment, she continues to hike, run, and live fully, reminding others to “stop making excuses.”

Last week, the Clothesline Project exhibit filled UVU’s Grand Ballroom with thousands of T-shirts. Each one representing the story of a survivor of assault or abuse. This year’s display featured submissions from Utah County residents, serving as a powerful reminder of both pain and resilience in our community.

Students who want to continue making an impact can get involved with the Center for Social Impact, which hosts events and programs focused on service, awareness, and change.
