Each year, Thomas County 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students participate in the Georgia National Fair’s Fair Bear Writing Competition, showcasing their creativity and storytelling skills. After competing at the school level, first-place winners advance to the state competition.
Inspired by the true story of the American black bear who became the Georgia National Fair’s beloved mascot, this year’s theme—“Fair Bear Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary”—challenged students to imagine Fair Bear traveling to Washington, D.C., to explore our nation’s history, visit landmarks, meet the President, and help plan America’s 250th birthday celebration.
✨ Fifth Grade Winners:
🥇 1st Place – Ahmon Robinson
🥈 2nd Place – Wilder Howard
🥉 3rd Place – Beau McDaniel
🎉 We are so proud of all our talented writers and wish them the best of luck as they advance!
