I was originally going to post something else today, but I came across this sermon and this quote stood out to me. I couldn’t get it out of my head.

Earlier today I was talking with a friend about Fall sports. I mentioned how we weren’t going to be doing anything extracurricular because my kids have not expressed interest yet. I’ve held onto some guilt around this, because I would love to see them doing activities/sports. I’m fully ready to be a Dance mom or a Soccer mom (without the minivan 🫣).

But, my friend also reminded me how we are involved in our church. Wednesday nights are about to re-open after the Summer break. We also plan to join a Growth Group. There are activities happening.

My guilt turned into relief after that sermon. There’s nothing more important on this Earth than to shepherd your children towards the almighty King.

Prioritize the right things.

I haven’t shared this part of my life in a while, but here we go. Hi, I’m Margaret and I’ve been a military spouse for the past 13+ years. This year we pcs’d from Hawaii 🌺 to Oklahoma 🤠. We bought a home, sight unseen while overseas, and thankfully loved it 😅 My hubby was deployed last year so between that and moving across the Pacific, life has been busy.

I took off a lot of time on here after posting steadily for a few months, but with our school year starting back up next week I hope to get into a routine again sharing our homeschooling and daily life things.

I’d love to build a community of other Christian moms who might also be a homeschooling or military family 🫶🏼🇺🇸🍎

What a blessing it has been to Homeschool my children. This year we moved to Oklahoma (from Hawaii), and were able to create a school room. We have never had an entire room dedicated towards school, nor do you need one. But, I can’t help to feel excited over this—it’s like Christmas morning to me! I also can’t help but daydream over watching the seasons change through the big windows, because for the past three years we didn’t have season changes (a blessing and a bit of a mind-warp).

My kids will be in third grade and kindergarten. I’d love to connect with you if you’re also a homeschooling family 🤍

Part 2 of yesterday’s video ✨ Let’s walk through the teacher’s manual filled with lesson plans, and how I set up my third graders’ binder.

We use the My Father’s World curriculum, and one of my favorite things about it is how easy it is to just open your manual and see the plan laid out for you!

Part One: 3rd Grade homeschool curriculum

Almost complete with our new homeschool room. We’ve never had an entire room dedicated for school before, so this is exciting! This will be year 4 for us. On the blank wall I plan to add a white board and cork board.

Putting this room together has felt like Christmas to me 😍 I get so excited over it!
