Brevard Talent Group Presents: From Audition to Booking # 61 Lance Tafelski in Tulsa King.
It has been an honor to represent Lance for over fourteen years. He was raised in Clearwater, FL where he began his acting career during his teenage years in community theatre. Upon attending Florida State University Lance majored in criminology, but also donated time to act in student films. After finishing school he trained at the Performer's Studio Workshop.
Lance's credits include American Rust, NCIS: New Orleans and The Walking Dead. Booking the role of Buck on Tulsa King was the highlight of his career. The role was recast months after Lance auditioned and decided to retire from acting. Tara Feldstein encouraged Lance to accept the offer. She did not need to ask twice! Another story, if the universe means for an actor to book the role it will happen!
Lance said "It’s been a winding road so far, that’s for sure. I’m a Florida actor that has never been attracted to the Hollywood lifestyle. My decisions over the past couple years of deciding to part ways with acting, booking Tulsa King, and then deciding to re-engage was not decided lightly. I’ve thought a lot over the years about a saying my acting teacher, Kathy Laughlin, has said over and over, “What are you fighting for?”. I’ve felt separated from a lot of actors because I don’t believe in fighting for fame, I believe in simply fighting for the next opportunity. Fame is the side effect, it shouldn’t be the goal. That being said, getting to work with Mr. Stallone and company revved my engine again. With prayer and talks with my agent Traci Danielle, I realized, I ain't done yet! With Kathy’s teachings buried in my head, on set, I just went with instincts: You’re there for the job. Nobody gives a care who you are. Be prepared. Speak when spoken to. Have respect for everyone around you. I can only hope I made a good impression so I can get hired again. As actors, that’s all we can hope for and keep pushing forward. I will most definitely be an old man one day in the nursing home saying, “Have I ever told you about the time I was knocked out by Sylvester Stallone?!” Keep it going, fellow actors, keep it going!".
