Universal Epic Universe’s own, Captain Cacao NOW has his own specialty milkshake!
Opening next to Meteor Astropub, the NEW Satellite Shakes window at Epic Universe offers travelers a taste of cosmic-inspired milkshakes that are not only visually impressive, but also delicious.
I recently had the chance to try out this new location, and I had to try the milkshake inspired by the parks iconic original character, Captain Cacao!
For $13.99, the Captain Cacao’s Starlight Voyage is a “chocolate shake with rich ganache, marshmallow, blackberry syrup and praline crunch, finished with chocolate whipped topping, blue starlight ribbon and Captain Cacao’s signature hat.”
The brilliant thing about this snack is it tells the story of this character. The marshmallow refers back to the floating marshmallows that power his moonship, the ganache is because the captain is a bear made of chocolate, and the hat is the “cherry on top” that alludes back to his iconic hat.
Much like the story, all the elements of this shake work perfectly together. The ganache mixed with the blueberry gave a chocolate covered blueberry flavor, and the marshmallows calms it down a bit. It was good, however the shake was very rich, and kind of a lot. I’d say if you are a fan of chocolatey snacks or Captain Cacao you’d probably love this, but otherwise I’d opt for another treat.
