The towers fell. The builders didn't.

Twenty-five years ago today, 2,977 lives were lost in a single morning.

In the days that followed, ironworkers, engineers, and construction crews worked alongside first responders in the wreckage at Ground Zero. In the years after, they rebuilt. One World Trade Center now stands where the towers once did — not to erase what happened, but to stand as proof that this country rebuilds, even after its darkest days.

Today, we remember those we lost. We honor the first responders who ran toward danger when every instinct said to run the other way. And we hold space for everyone still carrying what that day cost them.

Never forget.
