To help someone else feel a little less alone will always remain the heart of my journey. 🤍
This Valentine’s Day was especially meaningful. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center invited me to join a Galentine’s celebration with patients, and it’s something I’ll carry with me for a long time. We colored, made bracelets, painted nails, and talked about dreams, school, favorite shows… just normal, everyday life.
You don’t realize how powerful a little bit of normalcy can be until you’ve needed it. I know because I lived it. I walked those same hallways, sometimes for weeks at a time. Even then, Children’s worked intentionally to create moments like this. I admired it as a patient, and I admire it even more now.
To sit beside patients, not receiving care, but pouring back into that space, is something I’ll never take for granted and I’ll continue to do.
Titles fade. Crowns get passed on. But the way you make someone feel? That lasts. And I believe that as a titleholder, we have a responsibility to serve, to build our communities, strengthen them, and most importantly… show up. 🤍
