JT Money (born Jeffrey Jermaine Thompkins) is an American rapper from Miami, Florida, best known as the leader of the hip-hop group Poison Clan. Formed in 1990, Poison Clan was initially a duo consisting of JT Money and Debonaire. They were discovered by Luther "Luke" Campbell of 2 Live Crew and signed to Luke Records. The group's debut album, 2 Low Life Muthas, was released in 1990, featuring tracks like "Dance All Night" and "The Girl That I Hate."

Following Debonaire's departure, Poison Clan expanded its lineup to include members such as Madball, U*i, and Big Ram, with JT Money remaining the central figure. Their second album, Poisonous Mentality (1992), included the hit "Shake Whatcha Mama Gave Ya," which gained significant attention and is considered one of the top hip-hop songs of the 1990s.

The group continued to release albums throughout the early '90s, including Ruff Town Behavior (1993) and Strait Zooism (1995). In 1999, a compilation titled The Best of JT Money & Poison Clan was released, highlighting the group's most notable tracks.

After Poison Clan, JT Money pursued a solo career, achieving mainstream success with his 1999 single "Who Dat," which peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
