Today is a little bittersweet. Pickles is going to a forever home. A few years ago he started coming by to eat. He lived at a neighbors house. Then one day I noticed that he didn’t just come to eat and leave. He stayed. (They stopped feeding him and closed the garage doors). He slept on the chairs on our deck. Or under the deck. The deck is under a carport so it is dry and warm and kind of cozy. He is the kindest cat and incredibly friendly. So a few months ago I decided to bring him in. He stayed in a bedroom until I could get him tested. (We have cats of our own). I couldn’t introduce him until I know he was free of worms, mites, FIV, or anything else that he could pass to our cats. Then the news - FIV positive. I was heartbroken. He couldn’t be with our cats because a few of them are a-holes. Someone always has a scab. They say timing is everything and it sure is. We found the perfect person (a friend of a friend) to take him. Someone that will love him and give him the attention he deserves. So while I cried for the last 2 days I know that he will be in good hands. Pickles deserves peace, love, and a warm indoor home with a lot of love. 💕💕💕💕
