Metal Ninja Studios is proud to host our clients, Michael Zapcic & Mark Florio , at Baltimore Comic Con this month, September 25th - 27th, at the Baltimore Convention Center! Stop by our Booth: 1318 for creator comic book signings!
Michael Zapcic is a comic book and pop culture authority best known as the longtime manager of Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash — widely recognized by fans around the world as “The Most Famous Comic Book Store in the World.” A lifelong resident of Monmouth County, New Jersey, Michael was born and raised in the area and has become one of the most recognizable personalities in the comic and collectibles community.
Michael rose to international prominence as one of the breakout stars of AMC’s hit unscripted television series Comic Book Men, executive produced by Kevin Smith. Airing immediately after The Walking Dead during its original run, the show became a consistent ratings success for AMC, drawing millions of viewers weekly over seven seasons. Michael’s encyclopedic knowledge of comics, toys, film memorabilia, and pop culture history — paired with his quick wit and approachable personality — made him a fan favorite.
Michael has also appeared in several films written and directed by Kevin Smith and is currently collaborating with friend and creative partner Mark Florio on their original comic series, The Iron Golem, a mythic and socially resonant story about justice, resilience, and reclaiming hope.
Mark Florio is a former Navy SEAL turned writer, artist, and the mastermind behind Bonefrog Comics. He’s currently developing this creator-owned series, The Iron Golem, with co-creator, Michael Zapcic. When he isn’t drawing heavy-metal-infused masterpieces, you can spot his killer variant cover art and pin-ups gracing David Byrne's Stake #7, the Armored series, and Comix Wellspring.
Mark is also a full-time educator. In 2025, he joined Metal Ninja Studios, bringing his 20 years of experience in education and curricular design to the Capital of Comics and Concept to Comics initiatives under the studio and has since moved to the role of Director of Industry Relations.
