So pumped for Gordy's Marine winning 2014 Dealer Of The Year! Gordy's was my first regular job in 1994 and I got to spend the summer with the Whowell family on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. I gave water ski lessons, pumped gas, tuned up engines, towed customers boats around and also learned how to forklift boats out of the water and onto storage racks 3 tiers high. Fourth of July was highlighted by a big party onboard the "Abbey Lady" and the summer ended with a road trip to Soldier Field in Chicago to see The Grateful Dead, which was one of Jerry Garcia's last shows. I had to cut the summer short in mid-August when offered my first opportunity to water ski professionally at a show in Japan with my sister. It was hard to share the news that I was leaving, but they were very supportive. Super psyched to head up to the Malibu Boats & Axis Wake Research factory this week for strategic planning meetings!
