This is Cottonwood Point Campground in Marion, Kansas, and it may be one of the best campground values we’ve found so far.

🍇 Louisiana Wine Country & Duck Dynasty Dreams! 🦆

We spent the last couple of nights at Landry Vineyards in West Monroe, Louisiana, and what a fantastic stop it was!

We chose one of their two full-hookup RV sites, and at just $40 per night, it was absolutely worth it. Our gravel pad overlooked the beautiful vineyards, making for some peaceful mornings and gorgeous views right outside our door. If you’re traveling through northern Louisiana, this is definitely a stop worth considering.

One thing I was especially excited about was finally getting to visit the Duck Commander and Robertson Family Museum! As a fan of Duck Dynasty, it was neat to see the museum and learn more about the family that made West Monroe famous. We didn’t run into any of the Robertsons, but it was still a fun experience and a bucket-list stop for me.

The only downside? This heat! 🥵 Summer has definitely arrived in the South, and the temperatures have been no joke.

Today we’re packing up and heading west into Texas, where we’ll be settling in for a little while before continuing our adventures. We can’t wait to see what the Lone Star State has in store for us!

After spending about 40 wonderful days on the Alabama Gulf Coast, it’s finally time for us to start making our way back north to Wisconsin. ❤️

We’ve absolutely loved our time here! We stayed at Anchors Aweigh RV Resort in Foley, Alabama, and it was everything we could have hoped for. The campground has a beautiful pool and hot tub, spotless bathhouses, pickleball courts, volleyball, and a fantastic location that made it easy to explore everything the area has to offer.

Of course, we made plenty of trips to the beach—my happy place! 🌊☀️ There’s just something about the sound of the waves and the salty air that fills my soul. We also enjoyed some delicious local food and made memories we’ll cherish for years to come. We are so in awe of Gods creations and are forever blessed and grateful to be able to enjoy seeing Gods wonders.

One of the main reasons for our stay was so our sweet Roscoe could have surgery. We’re happy to report that he did great and had some of his old-man moles removed. 🐾❤️ Thank you to everyone who checked in on him and kept him in your thoughts.

As much as we’ve loved our time in Gulf Shores and Foley, it’s time to point the RV toward home. Wisconsin, here we come!

Pivoting Our Travel Plans ✨

RV life is definitely teaching us one big thing: flexibility. 😅
We keep a close eye on weather—especially watching Ryan Hall Y’all—because severe storms can be especially dangerous when your home is on wheels.

When we saw the tornado outbreak headed toward Texas and Oklahoma, we decided it wasn’t worth the risk. So… we pivoted! Instead of moving west, we extended our stay in beautiful Gulf Shores for a couple more weeks to let the worst of the weather pass.

Yes, it meant rearranging all of our planned stops, but our safety comes first. And honestly? We’ve really enjoyed the extra time here. Last night’s sunset over the water was absolutely breathtaking—I’m sharing a few photos below so you can soak it in with us. 🌅💛

Grateful for the flexibility this lifestyle gives us, and grateful to stay safe while we keep exploring.

🌞 Exploring Fairhope, Alabama!
What an amazing day! We took a little adventure over to the charming town of Fairhope, AL — and wow, it did not disappoint. ❤️

Fairhope has this beautiful, walkable downtown that honestly reminded me of the French Quarter in New Orleans… but quieter, cleaner, and full of small-town Southern charm. We wandered in and out of the cutest little boutique shops, each one with its own personality. 🛍️✨

I grabbed a glass of tea from a cozy coffee shop downtown and sipped while strolling — perfection. Then we stopped for lunch at Ben Jr’s Original BBQ, and let me tell you… SO yummy! 🔥🍖

After that, we drove down to the pier and snapped some absolutely stunning photos of Mobile Bay. The views were incredible!

To finish off the day, we cruised down to Gulf Shores and stuck our toes in the sand — the perfect ending to a perfect day. 🏖️💛

✨ Scary Moment on I-10 — But God Protected Us! ✨

Yesterday on our drive from Destin toward Pensacola, our tire pressure monitor started blaring… and within SECONDS we lost all tire pressure. 😳 We were blessed to make it safely to the exit lane on the side of the interstate, and honestly — the Lord had His hand on us the whole time. 🙏

A few takeaways that I hope help someone else:
➡️ Always have a heavy-duty jack in your vehicle.
➡️ Make sure you have a good spare tire.
➡️ And don’t forget the tools you need to actually change that tire!

Mikey jumped right into action and handled his business like a champ — had us back up and rolling in under an hour. 💪❤️

We were shaken up, but incredibly thankful. God protected us, kept us safe, and got us to our destination without further trouble. 🚗✨
