🚐 Full-Time RV Living Series: Part 2 — Choosing the Right Floor Plan
One of the biggest mistakes people make when shopping for an RV is focusing on the decor instead of the floor plan.
The reality? You’re going to live in this space every single day, so the layout matters far more than the color of the cabinets.
Start by asking yourself:
✔️ Is it just you and your partner, or do you have kids?
✔️ Will you be traveling with pets?
✔️ Do you need a dedicated workspace?
✔️ Is a washer and dryer a must-have?
✔️ Would multiple bathrooms make life easier?
✔️ Do you want an outdoor kitchen?
✔️ Does the versatility of a toy hauler fit your lifestyle?
✔️ Are you planning to visit National Parks where a smaller rig may be beneficial?
✔️ Or is having more living space your top priority?
The truth is, you’re probably not going to find a floor plan that checks every single box. That’s why it’s so important to identify your non-negotiables before you start shopping.
Make a list of:
⭐ Must-haves
⭐ Nice-to-haves
⭐ Deal-breakers
When we chose our RV, we focused on the features that would support our family’s daily life, not just what looked good on the dealership lot.
Remember: the “perfect” RV doesn’t exist. The right RV is the one that best fits your lifestyle.
