Split grip training in the gym!!

NO, you’re not in the same position as you are in split grip.

BUT, this movement seriously requires you to understand your push and pull strength in each arm to keep the bar straight, which translates extremely well to strengthening your split grip !

And your wrists are NOT in a position of serious risk of injury like the last “split grip training” I talked about🤦🏼‍♀️😭🥴

So if you want to train your split grip, or even really any push pull strength movements in pole, and developing more of a mind body connection to those movements, give this a try!

Not many train in the gym for pole - and you CAN most certainly build your strength 100% through just your pole journey- that’s where I started!

But eventually I wanted more so I started my gym journey too.

Strength training is more than just working out to look a certain way. Once you start and you use a progressive system, everything changes. Daily life things are easier - pole is easier 🙃

Don’t be scared to start in the gym becuase some people around you “get their muscles only from pole”. Strength training doesn’t take away from your pole journey, it doesn’t belittle your pole strength, and it doesn’t have anything to do with you being any less of a dancer becuase you also train off the pole.

All it does, is help you become stronger, start your gym journey, and lifting is something everyone should’ve started sooner any way.

So if you’ve been debating on adding gym to your pole journey, just go and start already 🥰

Even is you’ve never touched a pole before, you CAN leave your first session with all of these things, all you have to do is start where you are 🫶🏼

Curious what an intro 1:1 can look like for you?!

Even if you’ve never touched a pole, gone to a formal class, or if it’s been a minute - a 1:1 session can be for you!

A lot of people think 1:1 sessions are just for those who know what they want to work on and are looking for specific help on elevating what they already know - while this IS a huge part of 1:1’s .....that doesn’t mean you can’t do a 1:1 an an intro beginner!

1:1 is a great option for you if;
- your schedule doesn’t line up with traditional studio class hours
- large classes spike your anxiety
- you only want to go to a class with a friend - but your friend can’t make it
- you want a more personalized lesson
- you want to have a quicker take off in your training
- ANY reason you feel like!!

Studio class sessions are amazing - and we will be adding them to our schedule in the future, but personalized 1:1 sessions put the focus completely on you, your body’s unique needs to learn movements, and working with you on your specific goals - whether that’s for fitness and strength, learning tricks, or just an escape place to have fun and decompress, 1:1 is a great option for anyone 🥰
