🌊☀️ A Disney day at Typhoon Lagoon! 🌴💦

We had such a fun day cooling off at our favourite Disney water park! We braved Miss Adventure Falls, raced on the Storm Slides and spent plenty of time enjoying the wave pool. 🛟🌊

We also got to spend some time with the Worldwide Wards chatting all things Orlando and catching up before the Florida weather decided it was time to GO! 😂⛈️

The biggest storm rolled in and we literally ran for the car and our lives! 😂🏃‍♀️💨☔️

A little rain couldn’t ruin an absolutely brilliant day! ❤️✨

And RELAX! 😎🛳️✨

After an amazing (but exhausting!) 8 days in Orlando, we’ve swapped the theme parks for the high seas and set sail on the beautiful Carnival Mardi Gras! 🌴🌊

Now it’s time for some serious family fun — incredible shows, pool days, cocktails 🍹, delicious food and plenty of time to simply RELAX! ❤️

Day 7 – Epic Universe… doesn’t live up to the name! 😂🎢

We gave Epic Universe another chance today, arriving just after 8am with Early Park Entry.

First up was Battle of the Ministry. The queue is incredible, but the ride itself was just OK. Then Mine-Cart Madness — a 75-minute posted wait that took an hour, for a ride lasting about 90 seconds! 😬 Definitely not worth the wait for us.

Next was Hiccup’s Wind Gliders, which broke down while we were waiting. The queue was like an oven 🥵, so Jem and the boys headed back to Cabana Bay while Esme and I stuck it out. Eventually we got on and actually really enjoyed it.

Then came Stardust Racers 🚀🔥 — front row, hardly any wait and still by far my favourite ride at Epic!

By lunchtime we were melting, so it was back to Cabana Bay for a pool dip before walking over to Volcano Bay. Unfortunately, the pools were closed shortly after we arrived because of the weather.

We decided to skip our planned final evening at Epic and headed back to Universal Studios instead. Big Pink Donut 🍩, The Mummy, ButterBeer and Cinesational ✨ made for the perfect final night.

Day 6 in Orlando 🇺🇸🎢

2 parks. 2 hotels. One VERY long day! 😂

Started at Hard Rock with breakfast and then into the parks Express Pass action — Gringotts, Hogwarts Express 🚂, then front-row VelociCoaster! 🔥 Esme loved it!

Kong was a walk-on before we cooled off the only way we know how… Dudley Do-Right’s! 💦😂.

Then it was a water taxi to pick up our luggage and off to Cabana Bay. After a late lunch in the food court, a quick swim and a freshen-up, we headed back to Islands of Adventure for a few more rides and the beautiful Hogwarts Always castle show. 🏰✨

Late dinner at Bubba Gump’s and then absolutely everyone was DONE! 😴

Tomorrow… Epic Universe, take 2! 👀🎢

Day 5 in Orlando 🇺🇸🎢

Mixed emotions saying goodbye to the beautiful Sunshine Escape Villa after 5 amazing nights, but the excitement soon kicked in as we checked into Hard Rock Hotel at Universal 🤩

Keys collected = UNLIMITED Express Passes for 2 days! 🎟️🔥

Universal Studios was hot but brilliant, with loads of indoor attractions. We packed in The Mummy x2, Gringotts x2, MIB, Simpsons, F&F, E.T. and Bourne! Esme absolutely loved her first ride on The Mummy! 😱

We met and had photos taken with Marilyn Monroe, Homer & Bart and Doc Brown, grabbed a Big Pink Donut 🍩 and visited Chez Alcatraz for Shark Attack cocktails and the new Jaws photo ops! 🦈

By 6pm we were beat but did well considering we’d been the park since 10am! We walked to the Hard Rock and went straight for the pool. This place was incredible — DJ, waterslide, huge lagoon pool, and an amazing atmosphere! 🌴🎶

Swimming, dinner and family fun until 11pm. Another brilliant day… and VERY tired feet! 😂👣

Orlando Day 4 🇺🇸☀️

No parks today… and we actually survived! 😂 After a great night’s sleep, we’ve definitely adjusted to Florida time now.

First stop was breakfast at the Best of British Pub in Clermont, where we met Martin and some of the team. Super friendly and welcoming! 🇬🇧

Then we split up for a bit — Paul & Noah headed to the driving range at Mystic Dunes, while Jem, Jacob & Esme started packing and enjoyed a quick dip in the pool back at the villa.

Later, all five of us headed to the Windsor Hills clubhouse pool for the first time. It’s HUGE, and Esme absolutely loved the water slides! 💦

Then it was off to LongHorn Steakhouse for dinner… and WOW! 🥩 The Chocolate Stampede dessert is an absolute must-try! 😋

Back at the villa, we made the most of the pool and hot tub for one last night.

Tomorrow is a BIG one… villa checkout ➡️ Hard Rock Hotel at Universal! 🎸🤩

Day 3 in Orlando 🌴🎢

Another full-on day! Breakfast at the villa, then off to Epic Universe for our first ever visit. 🤩

Mixed opinions… but Stardust Racers was INCREDIBLE! 😱 Esme even did the whole thing with her hands in the air! 😂 We tackled both rides in Dark Universe, had lunch at Das Stake House, and loved how the staff stayed completely in character.

The only problem? ☀️ VERY little shade and barely any breeze. The park felt like one giant sun trap, so we made the family decision to escape before someone melted! 😂

Next stop… Volcano Bay! 🌋💦

Cooling off in the volcano pool, family raft slides and chasing each other around the crazy river — it was unanimous… we’d made the right decision!

We stayed until around 6pm, finally leaving after ALL THREE kids braved the drop slide through the volcano! 😱🙌

Then Panda Express takeaway, dinner on the villa pool deck, and some suspiciously accurate fortune cookies 😂🥠

Ice cream + family games rounded off another brilliant day.

We’re seriously going to miss this villa! ❤️🏡

Day 2 in Orlando 🇺🇸🎢

Universal was calling! 🤩 After two years away, we were up early and somehow made it there in just 22 minutes — even I-4 behaved! 😂

Today was all about Esme. At 130cm, she could finally tackle almost all the big rides at Islands of Adventure… and she absolutely loved it!

VelociCoaster and Hagrid’s are now officially her #1 and #2! Watching our 8-year-old fly around with her hands in the air was equal parts pride and panic! 😂

After Frozen ButterBeer, a caramel latte and a giant turkey leg, the storms arrived and rides closed around 3pm. 🌩️

We headed to Rock & Brews for dinner — and the ribs got a big thumbs-up from everyone! 🍖

Then it was back to the villa for pool, ping pong and family time in the pool. tub time. ❤️

By 10:30pm, we were exhausted…

But what’s happening tomorrow?

Epic Universe, perhaps? 👀🤩
