APHRODITE HILLS TEAM CUP RETURNS TO CYPRUS FOR SPECTACULAR FOUR-DAY EVENT

Prestigious team event to be played alongside Ryder Cup week

Aphrodite Hills Resort is preparing to welcome 28 teams of golfers from all over Europe to Cyprus for four days of competition, camaraderie and spectacular golf at the prestigious Aphrodite Hills Team Cup.

Taking place from September 24-28 and coinciding with the 2025 Ryder Cup in New York, this year’s event gives competitors a chance to enjoy their own thrilling team experience at one of the continent’s premium sporting destinations under the Mediterranean sun while Europe’s finest battle across the Atlantic.

The Main Event competition will comprise 21 teams of four, open to both professional and amateur male golfers, while a three-day Seniors Division tournament will feature seven teams of players aged 55 and over. A dedicated two-day Ladies Pairs Division rounds out the action for female players.

Exciting multi-format rounds across the week will challenge golfers with AM/AM, fourball betterball, greensomes and individual Stableford formats, with the overall team champions crowned as winners of the Aphrodite Hills Team Cup – an honour that includes free entry into next year’s event. A Silver Division Trophy will also be awarded to the winners of the over-55s category.

Beyond the golf competition, players and guests can enjoy opening cocktail receptions, gala awards dinners, practice facilities each morning, giveaways and exclusive use of the acclaimed Cabell B. Robinson-designed 18-hole championship course - which holds the prestigious title of PGA National Cyprus – including a practice round on September 24.

To commemorate one of the highlights of the venue’s calendar, Aphrodite Hills Resort has curated an exclusive stay-and-play offer available to book throughout the event. Rental apartments will be available from €153 per night, representing incredible value for any stay of four nights or more during the Aphrodite Hills Team Cup.

This year’s tournament follows in the wake of Aphrodite Hills Resort unveiling a major multi-million investment programme which will reinforce the resort’s position as one of Europe’s premier sporting destinations.

Competitors will be able to experience the brand-new world-class Starter Hut and café beside the first tee and the very first Trackman Range on Cyprus with state-of-the-art ball-tracking technology.

A complete upgrade of every bunker on course is also being undertaken over four phases, ensuring championship-standard conditions for decades to come.

The investment extends across the resort. The new Sports Hub will open in Spring 2026 at the heart of racquet sports with a new boutique retail outlet and a major upgrade to the changing facilities.
The hotel rooms and restaurants are also part of the major refurbishment along with dedicated food and beverage outlets and new outdoor furniture. Renovations are already underway in apartments and villas for rent, with modern upgrades that enhance comfort, aesthetics, and a sense of privacy — ideal for both short and extended getaways.

When you look at the World’s Top 100 Golf Courses, as almost all golfers do, there are courses which almost always feature in the top 10, if not the top 5. Pine Valley, Cypress Point and Royal County Down.

I have been fortunate to play Cypress Point, and Andrew Wood, World’s Best Golf Destinations founder has played Pine Valley.
