Intense audio of an officer involved shooting with a suspect in connection with a murder of a woman from reedley last night believed to be the wife of the suspect. Today, a sheriff from Tulare County located a vehicle matching the description of the suspects vehicle just east of woodlake. At first, the officer trailed the suspect vehicle while he waited for more units to assist in a felony traffic stop. As the unit followed the suspect, he appeared to notice the sheriff's unit and started throwing cans out the window, which turned out to be cans of beer. As they continued to follow the suspect vehicle, he waved a handgun out of the trucks window, followed by an AK47 rifle. As the suspect slowed down and yielded , he opened fire on the officers with an AK47 rifle, forcing the officers to return fire on the suspect. The reason why the audio captures the moment of gunfire is due to an open mic on one of the officers' radio, which allowed the confrontation to be transmitted of their frequency. Finally, a drone was used to get eyes on the suspect inside his vehicle before moving in and clearing the car before approaching. From the drone officers saw a handgun in the suspects right hand as he lay motionless inside, and also an AK47 rifle was seen of the floor just outside the suspects truck. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
