Day 1: Units are on scene with a 1/4 acre fire burning on both sides of the road 3 mi in the area of Old Forbestown Rd at School St, Oroville

There are approximately one to 1.5 acres outside the original containment line, per radio traffic. Three engines, two crews, two water tenders and a dozer requested. This incident has been reactivated on the Watch Duty map.

8:30 P.M. Update: CAL FIRE/Butte County has responded to 8 lightning fires since 5 P.M. today.

The largest was in the Campbell Hills area, west of Thermalito. That fire burned 36 acres and is contained.

They remain in heightened detection mode and are monitoring conditions.

The fire is now 20% contained and is holding at 11.6 acres. There is a steady wind in the fire area, and day shift resources are engaged in constructing direct control lines. Aircraft are over the incident performing reconnaissance, dropping retardant, and water. It is not threatening any communities.
