Radio Fact 📻

One radio DJ holds the record for **broadcasting for over 207 hours straight**... that's more than **8 days** without ending the show! 😲🎙️ The incredible marathon was completed in 2020 as a tribute to fellow broadcasters and healthcare workers during the pandemic. 💙

We may not have a live DJ keeping the mic warm around the clock here at KGTC Radio, but we're thankful to be able to share encouraging Christian music and biblical programming with our listeners every single day.

Think you could stay awake for 8 straight days behind the microphone? 😅📻 I know I couldn't! 😅

💙 A quick PSA from Station Manager Melanie!

Due to the chaos of this past weekend, our Morning in the Word videos were not uploaded. As an individual, I had multiple family members evacuated over the weekend, which understandably left me a little distracted. Add in the flickering power here in city limits, and our editing process was definitely limited!

It also sounds like the station is currently off the air. We’re working on getting everything back up and running now that power is becoming more consistent here in Oroville.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as our community continues to navigate everything happening around us. We’re doing our best to keep things moving while also taking care of our families and community. 💙

We are continuing to pray for all of the emergency personnel working tirelessly to contain these fires and keep our communities safe, as well as praying peace over everyone who has been affected. 🙏 Please continue to look out for one another and keep our community in your prayers!

As our community faces this frightening and uncertain situation with the fire, we want to let you know that this page will not be actively monitored over the next several days and should not be considered a source for emergency information or evacuation updates.

Please rely on local emergency officials and trusted emergency sources for the most current and accurate information, and follow any evacuation orders or safety instructions given. Please do not feel that you have to wait for an official evacuation order if you feel unsafe. Trust your instincts and use your best judgment and discernment when it comes to protecting yourself and your family. Local emergency personnel are doing everything they can to notify and assist our communities, but given the circumstances, they are stretched thin. Please be proactive and stay aware of what is happening around you.

If you have a trusted source where you are receiving updates and information about the fire, feel free to tag that source in the comments so others can find reliable information as well. ❤️

But while we may not be here to provide updates, we are here to remind you of something that never changes.

God is still in control.

Psalm 135:7 reminds us that He “brings out the wind from his storehouses.” The wind, the fire, the circumstances around us—none of it is outside His reach.

Whatever your situation looks like right now, we are praying over you, your homes, your families, and above all, the lives and safety of the people in our communities. 🙏

Homes and belongings can be replaced. Lives cannot. So our greatest prayer is for protection, safety, and peace for every person affected.

And when we don't know what comes next, we can still trust that God is good, and He will make a way.

Stay safe. Stay informed through official sources. Look out for one another. Keep our community in your prayers. ❤️🙏

This week marked our first full week of Morning in the Word in its new video format! 📖🎥

Thank you to everyone who's been joining Pastor Randy McAllister and the leaders from Valley Christian Fellowship as we've explored the topic of Justification together.

From thoughtful discussions about God's Word... to Pastor Carlos joking that he'd gladly punch Pastor Randy in the face 😄... it's been a week full of meaningful conversations and memorable moments.

Ever wonder why it's called "pirate radio"? 🏴‍☠️⚓

The term originally referred to unlicensed radio stations operating outside the law—kind of like how pirates operated outside the rules at sea. In the 1960s, some broadcasters took the name to a whole new level by anchoring ships in international waters 🚢🌊 and broadcasting from offshore to avoid government restrictions!

The astronauts who went to the Moon didn't just rely on one communication system—FM radio helped make parts of the Apollo missions possible! 🌕🚀

While NASA used powerful systems to send signals back to Earth, FM radio was used inside spacecraft systems and as part of communications on the lunar surface. Pretty amazing to think that technology we use every day helped support one of humanity's greatest adventures!
