Last week our UPS( United parcel service) man drove in our neighborhood. Kenzi saw the truck and thought it might be her daddy. I assured her it was not because we live in Walnut Ridge(recently moved). She runs outside and stands in our driveway, as he returns, she is waving at him BIG, he waves back just as big...... as he passes, she turns, looks at me and says, “nope Nan that’s not my daddy, he had hair, my daddy is bald!!”
So today he did make a delivery....I told him the story, we snapped a picture and we had a good chuckle!!!! My wish is for the whole world 🌎 to see through the eyes of a child!!

“Under the Banner of Heaven” isn’t meant to be an accurate portrayal of modern day mainstream Mormonism. It is representative of how the Lafferty Family interpreted Mormonism and it’s fundamental roots. Some of the flashbacks to Joseph Smith & Brigham Young’s time period are known to be conspiracy theories BUT the Lafferty’s considered that version to be the truth. There is only a small portrayal of mainstream Mormonism from the 70’s such as the baptismal and personal Bishop’s interviews with the fictional Pyre family as well as the interactions between concerned members of the church and the fictional Pyre family. Those types of interactions are still common in present day mainstream Mormonism. Also, the Mountain Meadows Massacre as told by fictional character Tabo is accurate, and an ugly stain on Mormon history.

Hey Mormon’s you are correct! It doesn’t accurately portray the Mormon church as you see and experience it. It shows how two sociopaths interpreted an extreme fundamental version of Mormonism that led to the violent deaths of two innocent people one of whom was trying to stand up for what Mormonism actually looks like. To that, the show was brilliantly done.
