Firefighters Respond to House Fires in the Macks Creek and Kaiser Areas on Friday

Not much is known at this time but firefighters around the lake area were busy on Friday responding to two separate house fires. The first was reported shortly before 5:00 in the morning with personnel from at least Osage Beach, Lake Ozark and Mid-County responding to a residence on Hallie Lane in Kaiser after reports of an explosion being heard and flames showing from the house....

Lake Regional Health System Says Patient Information Uncompromised After Reported Security Breach

Patient information from the Lake Regional Health System is apparently uncompromised after reported data security incident. A notice posted on Lake Regional’s website says a third-party electronic health record vendor identified as Cerner Corporation became aware of a security event in late February. The information revealed that an unauthorized third party gained access to protected health information on legacy Cerner systems....

Felony Charges Pending Following Pursuit in Miller County

Several charges are pending following a pursuit and the arrest of a Camdenton man in Miller County. The pursuit apparently started in the Eldon area before continuing on eastbound-54 from Route-52. Eventually stopped and taken into custody, according to the highway patrol, was 52-year-old Robert Ellis Smith. Pending charges against Smith include felony DWI-chronic offender, felony leaving the scene of an accident with property damage exceeding $1,000, resisting arrest for a felony and driving revoked. Smith was taken to the Miller County Jail and put on a 24-hour hold.

Missing O’Fallon, MO, Man Drowns at Lake of the Ozarks

The highway patrol reports that a 36-year-old man from O'Fallon, Missouri, is dead after drowning at Lake of the Ozarks. Not much is known about circumstances behind the drowning but the report does indicates that the man entered the water at an unknown time and by unknown means before being reported as missing. The man's body was recovered in the water and he was pronounced dead on the scene around 12:15 Saturday afternoon at the 40.1 mile mark of the Osage Arm.

With the DNR issuing a water boil order for the Eldon Public Water System, residents are being told to take several precautions. The Department of Natural Resources says, among the precautions, to boil water vigorously for three minutes before using it for drinking, brushing teeth, food preparation or diluting beverages. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) has issued a Boil Water Order for the Eldon Public Water System after samples tested positive for E. coli bacteria, indicating a potential acute health risk. A routine water sample collected on December 16th from the Eldon distribution system tested positive for total coliform and E. coli. A wanted fugitive and parole absconder from Eldon is arrested after a physical struggle which injured a Miller County deputy and a subsequent foot pursuit. Rezoning Request Shot Down by Four Seasons Village Board

The proposed rezoning of some 33 acres off the Horseshoe Bend Parkway commonly referred to as the former Busch property came up for an official vote Monday night by the Village of Four Seasons Board of Trustees. A large crowd packed into the Village of Four Seasons on Thursday for a public hearing to take comments on a proposed rezoning of more than 33 acres off the Horseshoe Bend Parkway, referred to as the former Busch Property, which is currently zoned R-1 residential special use permit. Early Morning Fire Damages Linn Creek-Area Home

Significant damage is being reported following an early morning house fire in the Linn Creek area. Mid-County Fire Chief Scott Frandsen says the call to the 1,000 block of Highway-V was received just after 3:00 Saturday morning (12-13-2025) after one of the occupants discovered fire in the attic near a wood stove flue. Frandsen also says the call was brought under control in about 15 minutes with most of the fire damage contained to the attic with smoke and water damage throughout the rest of the single-story structure....
