Are part of an authorized Volunteer Fox Cities team
Have been directed into the area by emergency personnel

AT 11:56 AM ON 7/27, A TORNADO, PRELIMINARILY EF-3 WITH ESTIMATED WINDS UP TO 140 MPH, DEVELOPED 2 MILES WNW OF APPLETON AND TRACKED SOUTHWARD INTO FOX CROSSING AND MENASHA WITH DAMAGE TO HOMES, BUSINESSES, AND TREES. THE TORNADO DISSIPATED OVER LAKE WINNEBAGO AROUND 12:22 PM CDT.

On July 27, 2026, the FOX CROSSING UTILITIES EAST water system experienced a loss in system pressure due to a significant weather event. In accordance with Wisconsin Administrative Code NR 810.12, a Boil Water Advisory has been issued until further notice. The Boil Water Advisory affects property owners from portions of the Village of Fox Crossing, City of Menasha, City of Appleton, and Village of Harrison that receive public water (not from a well) for drinking from the Village’s EAST side system.

A Boil Water Advisory is issued when the water may be bacteriologically unsafe for drinking. For the duration of the Boil Water Advisory, the following should be observed:

- All public water used for washing eating utensils, drinking, or cooking shall be boiled at a rolling boil for at least one minute.
- Ice and any beverages prepared with unboiled water should be discarded.
- Please conserve water usage as much as possible to allow our storage facilities to regenerate.

Per the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, the following are acceptable uses of public water during a Boil Water Advisory:

- Bathing or showering (except for infants).
- Making a sanitizing solution to sanitize dishes and water storage containers.
- Washing dishes in automatic dishwashers that have a sanitizing or heated dry cycle.
- Doing laundry.
- Watering lawns and plants.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services recommends residents talk to their doctor if they or family members develop symptoms that they think could be from the public water (diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever, etc.). Elderly people, infants, small children, and people with weak immune symptoms are more likely to get sick from germs in drinking water. These individuals should consult with their doctor for more advice.

It is possible that customers may notice a chlorine smell to the water. This is due to performing emergency chlorination on the system.
