🚧 Trail Closure Notice 🚧
The Mahaska Community Recreation Trail will be closed through Caldwell Park (near the Environmental Learning Center) beginning Wednesday, April 23rd due to the construction of Mahaska County Conservation’s All-Inclusive Nature Playscape.

📍 Closure Details:
🔴 The section highlighted in red on the map (bridge to bridge) will be completely closed.
🟡 The yellow section is accessible, but no through traffic will be allowed at the south Caldwell Park bridge.
🟢 The green route is the alternate path through the old Vennard College campus, connecting to established street trail access.

⏳ This closure is expected to last approximately 5 months, depending on construction progress.

Suzanne Somers died in October of 2023 but her husband, Alan Hamel, teamed up with the Robotix company to make an A.I. robot "twin" of her. It mimics both her voice and speech patterns using recordings and footage of her.

Hamel claims it was Suzanne's idea and he has a "long-range plan" to get permission to get a John Ritter version made and do some "additional episodes" of "Three's Company". By the way, Joyce DeWitt is still alive. She's 75 years old.

A park in Nagaizumi, Japan, has been officially named the world’s smallest park, covering an area of just 2 1/2 square feet.

The park near Nagaizumi Town Hall, about an hour's drive from Tokyo, was created in 1988 after a worker at the construction management division of Nagaizumi Town returned from a trip to the United States.

The worker had encountered Mill Ends Park in Portland, Ore., which previously held the record at 3.1 square feet. So, they wanted to create an even smaller park.

The park was completed in 1988, but the city didn't bring in a Guinness World Records adjudicator to officially measure it until December.

The Nagaizumi Park has now been certified as the smallest in the world.

A park in Nagaizumi, Shizuoka, Japan, has been officially recognized as the smallest park in the world, with a size of merely 0.24 m².

It’s not too unusual to catch a sea creature from the deepest parts of the ocean and not know what it is once you reel it in, but this catch took things to another level. The unusual appearance of the blobby fish led some to describe it as "alien-like." Fisherman Roman Fedortsov’s social media followers had a bit of a freak-out over a video of the fish, which resembled a large, bulbous skull with a face.

Somehow, he knew what it was, and identified it as a smooth lumpsucker, a species of ray-finned fish that grows to over a foot long. Fedortsov says the fish isn’t naturally so blobby, and was affected by the pressure changes between the surface and its usual home in the depths.

On a computer: Select Registration Info > Available Programs > Find eligible program and select "Register Now" > Enter email address > Register for an account, or login with your previous Little League account information, and follow the instructions from there.
The Little League organization has required a new registration system, and it will require more information than you may have had to provide before.
-The medical form can be printed and turned into your coach when the season starts.
-The school form is not needed for regular season play but would be necessary for All-Start play. It is only necessary once in your players Little League experience, so if you complete it this year it shouldn't be needed again.
