I was given this Shure 315s about 30 years ago. It was NIB when I received it. I’ve only used it a handful of times. It’s a rather flat and plain sounding ribbon mic. Lately I’ve been using it as a kit mic as just another color in the mic collage. If anyone has any suggestions on how you’ve used one of these, please leave a comment.

Testing Pro Tools 2022.12 on the M1. It’s super impressive minus the lack of third party plugin support. It’ll likely be a few months before developers get their s**t together. (I’m looking at you PA)

How did I spend the pandemic? Making albums. Some of those albums are suddenly finding their way into the world. This is one of them. Evan is a force of nature. As a matter of fact he brought a hurricane to my studio when he came and knocked out the power with his intense energy. I love this album. It allowed me to use my toolbox in ways I haven’t gotten to do in a while. It’s raw and real but also tight and intentional. It rides a narrow line quite beautifully.
