LET POSITIVITY FLOW!!!

Was at Cardiac Rehab today, just focused on getting back at it. Did great, got in 40 minutes on the elliptical. It's all about pushing forward and getting this done. I need to keep that focus of NEVER AGAIN WILL I mentality. Focus on working out every day and eating super clean with no cheat days. Talked to a dietician today and yeah, it's all about making my own meals since eating out causes sodium to pile up quickly. Love eating out, but it's the worst with how much sodium is in it. So focused on meal prepping my own food again like I did for 2 years when I was super strict on my weight loss.

STORY TIME:

The last week of July and all of August truly tested my fortitude. Spending 8 straight days in the hospital—a period that included my birthday—I faced terrifying unknowns: cancer testing, kidney biopsies, and a failing heart valve. I was staring straight into the dark. There were many moments each day when the negative thoughts took hold, and I simply could not find the positivity.

In those challenging times, I prayed almost every waking moment. My faith became an essential lifeline. More than that, my friends and family brought the lamp. They didn't just try to rescue me from the fear or darkness; they held the light steady, relentlessly pulling me out of the darkness of my own mind. They were the clarity that reminded me of my own strength and how I'd overcome obstacles before.

I kept praying, and while I may not have received the outcome I initially wanted, I accepted that it was part of God's plan. I soon learned I needed a procedure to repair a mitral valve, which meant placing a clip to fix the valve; which added a few more days in the hospital later in the month. For me, simply knowing what was wrong made it easier to be positive. I finally knew what I was up against and how I was going to fight these ailments. Positivity was flowing!

Since that surgery, my heart function has improved dramatically, and my kidney function is steadily bouncing back. Yesterday, I was cleared to return to the gym and start working out again. With a repaired valve and recovering kidneys, the path to healing is clear.
My resolve is firm: I am immensely grateful for my faith, for my friends, and for my family. They set the standard for strength. With God, my friends, and my family by my side, I see a bright future ahead. I can’t say thank you enough! Now, it is my time to continue to carry the light and guide my way down this awesome path.

Just a quick message to others struggling out there!!!

If you’re out there reading this and facing your own dark moments, remember this: When you can’t hold the light for yourself, let your family and friends hold it for you. Don't push away that support—it’s what saves you from the darkness in your own mind. Hold tight to your faith and God, trusting that even if the path isn't what you planned, there is a path forward. Find the simple things to be grateful for, even when everything else is terrifying. Gratitude shifts your focus from the fear to the fight. Once you know what you’re up against, channel that energy into a determined plan to win. Stay positive because you are stronger than you realize. Keep that light on, and keep going!

MY MINDSET:
This whole idea that gratitude is more than just a nice feeling—it's a tough strategy—is spot on, especially when the future feels like a huge question mark. When things are shaky, gratitude becomes your rock, yanking your attention back to the good stuff you have right now instead of letting your mind run wild with fear. This mindset is the real backbone of bouncing back, because it helps you switch gears and focus on the strength you've got to get through whatever hits you. It's a simple, smart way to train your brain to spot the positive and build the solid connections you need, which keeps you moving ahead no matter how rough the road gets.

Enjoying the Process of Life:

I wanted to share a thought that truly helps me stay grounded: whatever you're going through, it's not permanent.
I've definitely felt this in my own life and fully get the message in that meme. We all cycle through hard times and good times, and neither lasts forever.
The real magic is in how we approach each moment. It's okay to feel overwhelmed during the worst times—maybe you freak out for a moment. But the goal is to regroup, kick butt, and work our way back to those good moments again. I try to find gratitude in both, because while the good times are a blessing, the hard times teach us strength and resilience. It's all part of the journey.
So, if you're currently enjoying life, lean into it and savor every second! If you're having a harder time, hold onto hope—brighter days are on their way.

DAY 3: Back to Basics
ROUTINE IS EVERYTHING! Kicked off Day 3 with a 5:00 AM wake-up, straight to a 45-minute gym session. Home for a quick shower and a protein shake packed with veggies.
My "Mediterranean-ish Keto" eating window is 10 AM to 4 PM, focusing on whole foods: lean meats and tons of vegetables, nuts, lentils, and fruits. No alcohol, pasta, bread, or processed foods here – it's all about clean fuel for my gut.
Even with a 2-hour commute each way and a full workday, I'm getting an afternoon walk in, DDP Yoga at night, and meditation. In bed by 8 PM.
The long days pay off when you see the results!
