I had it tough the first time around so I get it. Not everyone has this - I didnā€™t. So thankful for second chances šŸ«¶šŸ¼šŸ„°

8 years ago - for my 40th birthday - I made the decision to plan my own festivities. I didnā€™t go into it with a mission to make some big statement or huge change but I LOVED IT SO MUCH that it became a THING. I now look forward to my birthday every year and it is my FAVORITE day. Some years that looks like a party with everyone I know. Sometimes itā€™s a quiet day of only my closest people or solo date with Brian. From the Vegas strip to a mountain hike and everything in between - literally whatever I feel like that year. Donā€™t get me wrongā€¦birthdays werenā€™t bad before but this is still so much better šŸ˜

And if I decide I want someone else to plan it that year - thatā€™s still an option! The point is thatā€™s itā€™s my choice.
