⚠️ Imogene Pass Rollover Near Summit

A driver from Phoenix escaped with non-life-threatening injuries after an SUV rolled multiple times off a switchback near the summit of Imogene Pass today. The vehicle slid off an icy section on the San Miguel County side, which remains closed despite the Ouray County side being open.

This is a reminder that high mountain passes can still hold dangerous snow and ice well into June. Always verify current conditions before heading into the backcountry.

⚠️ Imogene Pass Rollover Near Summit

🚨 A vehicle went off HWY 550 near mile marker 89—ending up hundreds of feet down the mountainside.
Thanks to the incredible teamwork of Ouray Mountain Rescue, EMS, and Fire, the driver was safely transported back up using a full rope and winch system.

Out here… there are no guardrails, no second chances—only skill, precision, and people willing to risk it all to save a life.

🙏 Massive respect to these crews.
