Life is never dull when you have a signpost saying "video for hire" on the Internet...

Cold Call from German news agency 10m ago:

German Agency: "So can you get a camera crew out to shoot footage of the escaped Chimps at the KC Zoo?"

Me: "Yes, sure. But I need to call them first. Call me right back."

(I make a quick phone call to Zoo)
(phone rings)

Me: "Yeah they have escaped chimps, but they're INSIDE the zoo grounds, so no one is getting in that place. They have Zoo attendees on lockdown in the main building and the zoo is closed."
Germany Agency: "Um, so you can't get images of the animals?"

Me: "Not at risk of great bodily harm and violating trespassing laws."

German Agency: "Oh no no no no no no... I wouldn't want that on my conscience, those things can rip your face off."

Me: "It would make amazing copy though."

German Agency: "(laughing) yes! yes! But we can't have you getting hurt."

Me: "I appreciate you guys looking me up, feel free to contact me for other jobs in the future.

German Agency: "Let us know if you can get CCTV footage."

Me: "Deal."

At a video shoot for ARC Physical Therapy+ Lunch and Learn today. Always great seeing my friend Matt Condon.

Missed having an intern today. Anyone interested in giving some time for experience on my gigs, hit me up. I have one person who helps out from time to time, but their school schedule is kicking their butt lately.

Getting off the bench...

I did a 5 hour video shoot after almost a year not working because of my hand injury, I have been reticent to do any video shoots since the injury due to some remaining residual pain and lingering resentment.

I motored through a very dry, yet interesting 3 hour lecture on companies needing to be in compliance this year with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

I nailed it.

When the footage was done, It looked beautiful, despite being the dryest content on earth. It felt good to be working again.

I'll be back on here more often, now that I proved to myself I can still do this sort of work, and do it well.
