Good afternoon everyone. A Wind Advisory has been issued for all of Central NY and Northeast PA which is in effect from 11 AM Friday 10/31 until 5 AM Saturday 11/01. West-northwest wind gusts are expected to gust between 40-50 mph Friday afternoon, evening and into Friday night. Wind gusts of this magnitude will blow around unsecured, lightweight outdoor objects such as trash cans and Halloween decor. Tree limbs and weaker trees may be blown down, leading to scattered power outages or other issues. Winds gradually diminish late Friday night and Saturday. The Morning Show welcomed Gerry Smith from the Tioga County Historical Society, to talk with us about O'Tannenbaum 2025. A ribbon cutting ceramony will be held on Friday November 7th starting at 11am at 110 Front Street here in Owego. This is a holiday tradition and a huge fundraiser for this organization. More than 60 trees and 70 auction items will be featured this year, with all of them being auctioned off to the highest bidder during a silent auction which will be going on until December 13th. Live music will be featured on Saturdays from 10-12pm and 1pm-3pm with the OFA Chorus performing on Decenber 13th in the afternoon. Much welcomed rain will fall throughout the day as a low pressure system moves into the area from the southwest. Gusty winds will accompany the rain, especially across higher elevations and along and east of I-81. Earlier this week, one of our NYS troopers stopped a driver on Interstate 81 in the town of Hastings for traveling 111 miles per hour in a posted 65 mph zone.
Speeding at that rate not only puts the driver at risk but everyone else on the road. Slow down, drive safely, and help keep our highways safe for everyone.

😔 Rest in Peace to a very good Boy.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of K9 Sig of the Owego NY Police Department, at the age of 12.
Sig's partner and handler Sgt McCulskey were certified with the deployment profiles as a narcotics detection, tracking, evidence detection and protection K9 team, he was always on a mission.
Sig was well known throughout the US at STPCA, NAPAWDA and NNDDA seminar certification trials as "The Black Dog," where Sig excelled in narcotics detection.
Sig was iconic, living with his family and had many dog friends, not so many human ones. Sig was a lover of takeout frequently helping himself to hot wings, foil and all along with anything else he could get, washing it down with sticks of butter.
It's no surprise that for anyone that knew Sig and his legendary drive and determination Sig suffered a heart incident a week ago, that didn't stop him, he kept living his life not knowing his heart actually stopped a week ago.
We will miss you.
