Clarence C. Clark was the first professor to teach on Television in the US back in 1938 by teaching a college class over the TV facilities of NBC. He was also influential in the use of motion pictures for classroom instruction. He wrote many articles for professional journals and was author of Outlines of Science and co-author of This Living World and This Physical World. In 1935, he conducted a class using a shortwave radio transceiver (a radio that can both send and receive messages) from his home. Because the radio went both ways, Prof. Clark was able to take questions from the class. The April 1935 issue of Short Wave Craft magazine reported on Clark’s experiment as a harbinger of the bold new way that classes may one day be conducted by television. Clarence was from Owensboro and, at one time, taught at Owensboro High School. He died in September 1983 in Tampa, FL. "Radio" pictures are from Smithsonian Magazine and "TV" picture is from gizmodo

Owensboro High School's Rash Stadium (Built in 1924) is named for Dr. O. W. Rash who helped raise $10,000 by encouraging 100 donors to put up $100 each. The result was a stadium, about 30 yards long, built on the west side of the field behind the school. Before that, OHS played on a converted baseball field or fairgrounds near Legion Park. In 1940, Rash spearheaded a drive for a larger stadium, and the WPA added more seats in 1941 on the side nearest the school.
