Episode 43 with Liz Adams is now live on Spotify!
In this episode, I get the pleasure of visiting with Liz Adams. When Dutchgirl wrestling became an official girl's sport at our school, Liz was a Freshman. She was part of the very first group to ever wrestle all four years as a high school Dutchgirl. Her story has many ups and downs, and she had to face something that most high schoolers do not face during their time in high school; the loss of a parent. However, through the ups and downs, she maintained her focus and commitment to her goals. Her maturity and dedication through adversity was very admirable. I, along with so many others, am so proud of her!
Wrestling wasn't the only sport that defined Liz's high school career. She was a 4 year volleyball player, ran track, and even played soccer one year. From the time she was little, she loved participating in sports and athletics. Her time during her high school years was very much dedicated to training for sports all year round. She is a great example for younger Dutchgirl athletes, and she is also already trying to give back by helping train younger aspiring Dutchgirl wrestlers. We are so proud of you Liz, and we are so excited to watch the next chapter of your journey unfold wrestling at William Woods. Someday, I hope to move from calling Liz a former student to a coworker, as she has plans to come back and be a teacher and coach!
