Wastewater problems could lead to Bland bond issue

BLAND — Bland officials are preparing for what could become a major wastewater system improvement project after engineers identified excessive rainwater entering the city’s sewer system and said future improvements will likely require a bond issue.

City Engineer Terris Cates with Integrity Engineering updated the Bland Board of Aldermen during the Aug. 10 meeting on an ongoing study of the city’s wastewater treatment and collection systems.

OHS harriers open season on home course

Welcoming Fatima and St. Francis Borgia to Owensville High School (OHS) for a home tri-meet on their cross country course, Matt Candrl’s OHS harriers looked to defend their home course.

Running a shortened two-mile course for their season opener, senior Zach Holtmeyer won the varsity boys race in a time of 10:23.20.
