"Mending Mittie's Tomb" will be showing at the South Georgia Film Festival this afternoon! Sadly I will not be there, but definitely check out this awesome festival if you can.

Mittie Manning died in 1875, aged 4. Her unique grave and the story behind it has ensured she is not forgotten, even as her grave has deteriorated. To keep her memory alive, a group of local history lovers work to repair and preserve her tomb.

Happy Halloween! This is a short film from last year, Phillip Kyle Knecht was kind enough to let me film the process of restoring Mittie Manning's grave and tell her story. I believe there's a few tickets left for tonight's cemetery tour, last one of the season, over at Haunted Holly Springs.
