I brought my mentee, from Mighty Writers, to a place that means a lot to me… it’s one of the places where I used to come when I first arrived from Mexico. We’ve known each other for six months and today we talked about life, video games, and what it’s like to be resilient. The little walks, the conversations, they matter a lot.

Teamwork Thursday spotlight 🤝
We got in touch with Oxford Mainstreet, Inc. for First Fridays, and it’s been a huge success for us downtown.

From BID benefits, to shared resources, this has become truly symbiotic: they help us grow, and we provide volunteers.

We’re kicking off Mission Monday with new Meals on Wheels volunteers, Leanne and Brittany Shanae! 🚗💙

They spent the morning training and delivering meals to homebound adults, a reminder that behind every bag is a neighbor who truly needs it.

Yesterday I was with my mentee’s family. I listened. I was present. And it hit me…

🌱💬 Service Saturday reminder: when we come together, we grow stronger… just like the native plants we learned about today!
Kathryn from Oxford Borough dropped a wealth of knowledge 🌼, and I even discovered that black chokeberries are edible (yes, I had to try one 😂).
It was also amazing to have Brittany Shanae stop by and connect, teamwork in action right here in our small, but mighty, Oxford! 💚

💡 Let’s keep making our town a place where people and nature flourish 🌳
