So I have my nitpicks (as always)
But since this is the last edit I’ll be making in what could be a year, I hope you guys enjoy it! Despite my infrequent posting, I’m always working on improving and learning new things to make my content better and better. Thanks to everyone who has followed and supported so far, I never really thought people would be interested in these and wow, was I wrong!

We wish everyone a happy Fourth of July - filled with safe and legal celebrations!

Independence Day is typically the busiest day of the year for the Oxnard Police Department, and we will have an elevated deployment of officers and staff. Personnel from every rank of the department will be on duty. We will be engaging in active efforts to identify D.U.I. drivers.

We will also have a significant number of police officers, code compliance officers, drones, and Oxnard Fire Department staff out looking for persons with fireworks, or locations where fireworks are being ignited (if they aren't actually cited on the 4th, we are following up with citations during the week). Last year, a total of 177 fireworks-related citations were issued between Memorial Day and July 10. We map the complaints, and deploy into the areas with the highest concentration. The City of Oxnard also created a "host liability" ordinance that fines and penalizes homeowners and tenants who allow fireworks on their property.

On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress took a break from writing the Articles of Confederation and passed a resolution stating that “the flag of the United States be 13 stripes, alternate red and white,” and that “the union be 13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”
Over 100 years later, in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson marked the anniversary of that decree by officially establishing June 14 as Flag Day. [History.com]
