8 years ago we met and, after only two weeks, began a two-year long-distance relationship.
During those years, we were very much in the world. Eventually, we lived together for three years. During this time we didn’t know God personally, both knew of Jesus, but we didn’t see His relevance.
During that time, we used w**d everyday to escape reality and bury our pain. We carried a lot of baggage, hurt, and pain that affected our relationship.
After three years of living together, we got engaged, but there was still a lot to work through before marriage.
Thankfully, God placed people in our lives during this time who helped us heal and become whole. 🥺
The engagement ring came off five times, and each time we had to remind ourselves why we wanted to be together. Deep down, we felt that we were meant to be together, so we fought hard to reach where we are today.
We went through counseling, both separately and together.
When our wedding day finally arrived in 2021 , we could hardly believe we’d made it.🤍
Good things take time and work. I wouldn’t trade what we went through and will go through for anything in the world. Thank you for sticking by my side and for your faithfulness 🫶🏼 I love you
