To my fellow autism parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, caregivers, extended family, friends, therapists, teachers, educators, politicians, advocates, and anyone else I may have forgotten (you know who you are 🥰)
Today is World Autism Awareness Day, and I want to take a moment to celebrate not just my amazing son, the countless others who see and experience the world in their own beautiful, unique way.
Autism isn’t something to be “fixed.” It’s something to be understood, respected, and embraced. Every stim, every script, every strength, and every struggle tells a story of resilience, creativity, and courage.
To my son: You inspire me every day with your determination, your curiosity, and your heart. You teach me more about patience, love, and perspective than I could have ever imagined.
To the parents walking this journey - through the hard days, the joyful moments, the therapies, the victories both big and small - I see you. I stand with you.
Let’s continue to build a world that doesn’t just recognize autism - but one that welcomes, includes, and celebrates it.
