Another IN AWE post from the show on 11/11 at Wits’ End Records in Murray, KY!

This was my second time hearing/booking Hunter ( ) and the first time with a full band and it was everything my heart needed. This is part of her song Ruthless and while I’d heard it through streaming seeing her belt it out was why I LOVE live music!

Hailing from the historically rich city of Charleston, South Carolina, Americana music artist Hunter Park is defining what it means to not only live in the modern south, but to be a trans woman and artist within this landscape. Combining folk-infused vocal melodies and evocative lyrics that capture the unfiltered human experience, She Returns From War is taking her seat in the Americana music world with grace, strength, and passion. In 2023, the project shows no signs of slowing down. From opening for Bernie Sanders at his presidential rally in Charleston, to performing at national festivals like Stagecoach and High Water Festival and with artists such as Pat Benatar, Band of Horses, S.G. Goodman, Kelsey Waldon and Nikki Lane, She Returns From War is sharing with the world what the modern south should look and feel like: inclusive, compassionate, unfiltered, and loving.

Just a photo of me with a dude I continue to admire in a myriad of ways! His devotion to the art of curating a space is next level. His conviction in making sure a top notch place to secure vinyl remains in Murray, KY had me in awe. BUT one of the best things about Tim Peyton is his big ‘ole heart! And also he has one of the raddest partners of all time via who may be in competition for the biggest heart award!!

Working with Wits’ End Records to put on a show was everything I hoped it would be and more. They cultivate a vibe in this space and it is a thing you can’t just replicate or pull from thin air. The souls of the people involved are what make these spaces so damn special.

Wits’ End . . .THANK YOU! You are special and solid gold for supporting the music scene in the manner that you do and I was humbled to work with you all and can’t wait to do it again!

Elise has worn many hats—singer-songwriter, touring artist, foodie, and now educator and creator of Elise’s World Show. She began writing songs at age 12, toured nationally for over a decade, and released multiple albums (including some on indie labels Thirty Tigers, Rough Trade, ToneTree). After the pandemic, Elise shifted paths and earned her master’s degree in education. Today, she’s a 4th grade English teacher with a deep passion for helping kids grow—in literacy, confidence, and health.

We cannot wait to merge our community, different genres of music and create an opportunity for a confluence of experiences in downtown Paducah.

It is fun to connect musicians with a stage. It is even more fun to see an audience some to life when they get to see a musician they LOVE perform live in front of them. I am excited to work with agents to bring some awesome musicians to some different venues in the region.
