The loss of Trooper Hayden Phillips is a heartbreaking reminder of the risks first responders face every day. As a community, we want to make sure his sacrifice is honored and his family knows western Kentucky is standing with them.

Here at Paducah Blotter the admins have discussed holding a vigil this Friday night at Noble Park in front of the Wacinton statue.

This is not an official event unless it gains traction.
Couple of things to consider- the theme would be black/blue, you bring your own candles or item that you prefer, absolutely NO balloon releases, keep things civil and quiet, stay out of the road and dont block walkways, clean up after yourself.

I would like opinions on this idea and would encourage everyone including first responders to join us for an hour or less to show our support for a lost life
Also this needs to stay 25 people or less cause then we start needing permits

Come join us for the 2026 Touch a Truck event at Barkley Regional Airport, Old Terminal, on Friday October 2nd from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. This is a free, annual event where kids and families can see and touch approximately two dozen types of vehicles such as fire truck, police car, tow truck, and trolley. Schools and church groups are asked to call 270-444-8508 to pre-register. Individuals do not need to pre-register.

The Kentucky State Police will be going live on Facebook shortly to provide an update regarding the trooper-involved shooting that occurred earlier today in Warren County, which resulted in the line-of-duty death of Trooper Hayden Phillips.

Today, we face one of the most difficult moments an agency can endure as we announce the loss of one of our own. Trooper Hayden Phillips, Unit 369, made the ultimate sacrifice while
patrolling I-65 in Warren County. He was assigned to Post 3 Bowling Green and was a graduate of Cadet Class 103. His dedication to duty and commitment to the commonwealth will not
be forgotten.
Our hearts break for Trooper Phillips’ family, loved ones, and fellow troopers as we grieve this tremendous loss. We will carry his memory with us, honor the life he lived and the badge he wore, and stand together as an agency to support this family in the days ahead.
