Next year’s goals once we’ve fully recovered from the freeze we had.

In spring 2025, we collected eggs, picked lettuce, cucumbers, papayas, and bananas, cut flowers (some that are edible), and we made pickles and bougainvillea lemonade!

These eggs traveled from CT to FL in my carry on. I believe the breeder said they’re from young layers so I hope they’ve developed!

Celadon “True Blue” Coturnix Quail are homozygous birds (Ce/Ce) that carry two copies of the recessive "Celadon gene," which causes hens to lay light blue eggs instead of traditional brown-speckled ones.

No Knead Artisan Bread w/Rosemary & Garlic

* 3 cups flour
* 1 tablespoon sugar
* 2 teaspoons yeast
* 11/2 teaspoons salt
* 11/2 cups warm water
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 1/4 cup or more garlic
* 2 sprigs chopped rosemary
* Cooking oil spray

* Mix flour, sugar, yeast and salt in a large bowl. Add water and oil. Add in garlic and rosemary. Mix together.
(Dough will be wet, sticky and shaggy.)
* Lightly spray the top with cooking oil spray. Cover with plastic wrap and place a dry tea towel on top.
* Leave in a warm place for 2-3 hours.
(Dough will double in size.)
* Put Dutch oven with lid inside of oven.
*Preheat oven to 450°F about 30
minutes before baking.
* Flour work surface and scrape dough out of the bowl. Sprinkle the top of the dough with a large pinch of flour and fold to form a round shape.
* Place parchment paper next to the dough and roll dough onto the paper, smooth side up.
* Loosely cover with plastic wrap and let rest while oven is preheating.
* Use oven mitts to carefully remove hot dutch oven from oven. Grab the parchment paper from each end to pick up the dough and transfer it into the pot.
* Cover with lid and bake for 30 minutes, then remove lid and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
* Transfer to a wire rack to cool for 10 minutes before slicing.

Happy Summer Solstice!

🍊Citrus Slice Suncatcher ✨

1. Preheat oven to 200°F

2. Slice oranges/lemons 1/4"-1/8" thick

3. Place on parchment paper on baking sheet

4. Pat dry

5. Bake for 3-5 hours, flipping every 30-45 min to prevent curling

6. Allow to cool

7. String together and hang in window
