"They found a farmhouse to the west of Sant Joan dating from 1870, in quite an unusual style for the island. But despite the challenges presented by the outside of the house, they couldn’t resist the possibilities offered by the accompanying eight hectares of fertile land. Abandoned for forty years, they resolved to give the farm a second life with a permaculture operation. They planted 1,800 pomegranate trees, followed by olive and almond trees and an organic vegetable garden that now supplies many restaurants on the island with high-end produce."
