Ever since 2008, Larry Jones - a retired Flagler County Sheriff’s Office sergeant - has held ‘Christmas with Community Heroes’. The event allows less fortunate local children to pick out Christmas gifts they wouldn’t have otherwise had.

Jones started the program as ‘Christmas with a Deputy’ when he still worked with the FCSO. After his retirement the FCSO pulled involvement and started a new similar benefit, and so Jones has continued his original event independently.
