The City of Palm Coast has been caught with its pants DOWN. The city has been allowing PERMITS for those contractors who aren't licensed to do the work. They'll also allow PERMITS in specialty areas to contractors who aren't licensed to do certain types of work, such as permits for hot water heaters doors given to contractors licensed who put up sheet rock walls.

"We aren't responsible for checking someone's credentials," a homeowner was told. "The contractors know what they're licensed to do." The homeowner asked to be unidentified for fear of retaliation by the city.

Finally - a voice of reason from HBA - Flagler Home Builder's Association.

Executive Director Annamaria Long said using unlicensed individuals could have a number of repercussions. 'It's very, very easy to check,' Long said.

Palm Coast residents digging trenches, while the City of Palm Coast ignores the problem they created and continue to allow. These drainage nightmares are a direct result of the city allowing & directing new homes to be built 1-2 feet higher than adjacent properties and above the crown of the road without proper inspection.

What's it going to take for the city to take responsibility?
