Wanted Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro has publicly inaugurated a new class of special operations graduates via his page, praising their "combat quality" and "deep moral."

This show of military strength stands in stark contrast to his status with the United States government. The U.S. State Department now offers a record $50 million reward for information leading to his arrest and/or conviction. Maduro is wanted for his alleged leadership of the Cartel of the Suns, designated a Specially Designated Global Terrorist.

Update

Ghana Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablawka says Ghana president, Mahama has secured 1 billion dollars worth of investment on a visit trip to Singapore 👇👇

"His Excellency John Mahama has become the first Ghanaian President in history to be invited by a President of Singapore on a State Visit.

But his visit was not just for the history books; he made a profound impact by securing US$1billion worth of investment deals.

Here are some of the major investment partnerships integral to President Mahama’s Reset Agenda:

1) OLAM has committed to spending US$200million for establishing new projects in Ghana. The projects include a new 43,000 metric ton pasta processing plant to be opened next year and feed processing plants for poultry and aquaculture. Some 4,000 jobs are expected to be created;

2) Shangri-la has pledged to construct a US$300million green ultra-modern iconic 5-Star Hotel with a grand mall for local and international brands and a convention centre to make Ghana the West African conference destination;

3) A 10,000 capacity students hostel for the University of Ghana;

4) New Kotoka International Airport enhanced security and scanners project which aligns with latest global standards to check smuggling and drug trafficking;

5) Cooperation to expand Ghana’s Tema Port and revive the Tema dry dock;

6) Construction of a new jetty for oil ships;

7) Cooperation with Singapore’s Land Transport Authority to establish Testing Labs across Ghana to ensure only certified quality materials are used to construct durable roads;

8)Collaboration of the central banks of Ghana and Singapore to launch a common payment platform to boost trade and international commerce between Africa and Asia;

9) A TVET arrangement with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) to establish a model Accra Institute of Technology;

10) Ex*****on of projects under our bilateral Carbon Credit Agreement.

In addition to these transformative projects — Ghana and Singapore signed an MoU for regular high-level political consultations, agreed to finalize negotiations on a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) and secured support for ORAL through a capacity building cooperation for forensic investigators.

Also, under a special public service reset initiative, the first batch of 18 Chief Directors of Ghana’s Ministries will travel to Singapore next month (September 2025) for an intensive capacity building and knowledge-sharing leadership bootcamp.

President Mahama announced that Ghana is set to establish a Consulate in Singapore by 2026.

Singapore has already opened Enterprise Singapore in Accra to oversee its West African investment portfolio.

As President Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore indicated: “President Mahama is a man on a mission. He is determined to see his country and its young population succeed.”

Our two modern founding fathers who instructively were great friends and were noted for their frequent exchange of letters — Kwame Nkrumah and Lee Kuan Yew, will be exceedingly ecstatic with the rekindling of high-level impactful Ghana-Singapore relations.

We shall continue to make sure our approach to diplomacy delivers the transformation and reset Ghanaians voted for, overwhelmingly"

Update

Gbarpolu County Senator, Amara Kenneh writes 👇 👇

"REAL TALK: Please Lead the Fight Against Illicit Drugs, Mr. President!

The ongoing leadership crisis within the LDEA is once again distracting the nation from the urgent battle against illicit drugs. The LDEA saga is making President Joseph Boakai's administration look increasingly ineffective in fighting drugs, and hopelessness is spreading among citizens.

Young users and individuals struggling with addiction, the true victims in this situation, need our support, not the neglect that has resulted from the mess at the LDEA.

The first step is to appoint qualified leadership for the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). The President's decision to fire top DEA officials twice within 18 months can be attributed to two main factors: political interference in the vetting of appointees by different factions in the President’s ruling alliance, and the infiltration of drug cartels.

For example, the LDEA officers who arrested the Liberian woman at the Roberts International Airport (RIA), livestreamed on Facebook, similar to the body cameras used by U.S. police officers, have since been suspended and transferred from RIA when they should have been honored and promoted for their vigilance.

Additionally, the LDEA Deputy for Administration, who bravely exposed the involvement of "powerful government officials" in the illicit drug trade during a live MICAT Press Conference, has been fired. The cartel is at work.

While these swift appointments and dismissals show some decisiveness, they are insufficient to fulfill the President's campaign promise of “Kush Must Go!” The Agency needs stability and professionalism to address the challenges it faces successfully.

To turn this situation around, the President must oversee a strict vetting process free from his party’s internal and regional politics. This is a Liberian problem, and the process should aim to recruit capable candidates to lead the agency with patriotism and unity.

Next, the Boakai administration must present a concrete action plan to tackle the drug crisis. This plan should focus on both prevention and treatment. We need measures to address the social, economic, and legal challenges that have contributed to and perpetuated the drug epidemic.

Enhancing health infrastructure with professional rehabilitation programs that target the root causes of addiction is essential. Furthermore, we need a strategy to crack down on trafficking, enforce drug laws, leverage technology, and collaborate with local and international partners.

I equate the drug crisis to the Ebola epidemic we faced a decade ago. It impacted the entire region, which was complicated by our porous borders. But both the government and people learned from it and were able to swiftly curb the effects of COVID-19, five years later. We can do it again, drawing on the qualities we exhibited in those two instances: unity and resolve.

Some may argue that the legislature is complacent because we confirm the President's appointments. However, we strive to adhere to the Constitution's separation of powers. We should focus on creating a legal framework to combat drug abuse and overseeing the Executive's initiatives. We are actively working on both fronts.

Despite our written requests for updates on the fight against drugs sent to the Senate and the numerous hearings we have conducted with relevant institutions, we have seen little progress on this initiative.

We already have a strong drug law and are reviewing it for potential improvements. Additionally, we must wisely reallocate resources to fund the President’s strategy adequately.

However, as it stands, there is no viable strategy to finance it. Once a concrete plan is developed, I am committed to leading this effort in the Capitol alongside my colleagues.

Ultimately, it is the Commander-in-Chief who must take the lead by taking charge of the LDEA. The time to act is now. We need a clear plan and a solid team to implement it"

Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe writes 👇 👇

Law & Politics: Note to the Public

Topic: The CDC Eviction and the Law on Writs of Possession

Many have asked about the legality of the recent eviction involving the CDC. Let me explain in plain terms:

A writ of possession is only meant to put the rightful landowner back in possession of his/her property.

Court officers can remove people and their belongings, even break doors if necessary.
But they cannot destroy houses or buildings.
Once judgment is given, all structures belong to the new owner. It is the owner not the court or the police who decides whether to keep or demolish them.

So the main question is: who brought in the yellow machines that tore down the buildings?
a. If it was the owner lawful.
b. If it was the court officers or police unlawful, because they went beyond their legal
authority.

Ex*****on of judgment is about repossession, not destruction.
Q & A
Q1: What is a writ of possession?
A. It’s the court order that returns land to the rightful owner.

Q2: Can court officers destroy houses during eviction?
A. No. They only remove people and belongings.

Q3: Who decides what happens to buildings on the land?
A. Only the lawful owner.

Q4: Any precedent in Liberia?
A. Yes. In the Togba Estate v. Goodridge case, the Estate got back the land, but the house still
stands—because only the Estate had the right to decide.

Q5: What about the CDC eviction?
A. The issue is whether the yellow machines were hired by the owner (lawful) or by
officers/police (unlawful).

Law vs. Politics
This is not a political issue. Ex*****on of judgments is a legal matter, guided by our Civil
Procedure Law and precedents.

Conclusion
The CDC eviction teaches us a simple but powerful lesson:

Ex*****on of judgment must follow the law—nothing more, nothing less.

For Immediate Release

PRESIDENT BOAKAI SUSPENDS IMPORT TARIFFS ON OFF-GRID SOLAR RENEWABLE ENERGY PRODUCTS

August 28, 2025

Executive Mansion, Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has issued Executive Order No. 152, suspending import tariffs on off-grid solar renewable energy products in a decisive move to boost Liberia’s transition to clean and affordable energy.

This action renews the Government’s commitment to expanding renewable energy access, particularly for rural communities, following the expiration of Executive Order No. 134. The suspension of tariffs applies to a wide range of off-grid solar lighting and electrification systems, standalone solar photovoltaic components, energy-efficient appliances, batteries, panels, control units, and other technologies essential to rural development and energy system integrity.

President Boakai emphasized that this measure is aimed at stimulating private sector investment, reducing costs for consumers, and expanding access to reliable electricity for households, businesses, and institutions across Liberia. “Clean and affordable energy is central to our development agenda. By removing barriers to importation, we are creating opportunities for Liberians to access renewable energy solutions that improve livelihoods, power businesses, and strengthen our economy,” the President noted.

Under the new Executive Order:
• Importers will only be required to pay Customs User Fees (CUF) and, where applicable, the ECOWAS Trade Levy (ETL).
• Entities seeking to benefit must be actively engaged in the renewable energy sector, registered with the Rural and Renewable Energy Agency (RREA), and ensure all products are certified by the National Standards Authority (NSA) to meet approved quality and safety standards.

The suspension of tariffs takes immediate effect and forms part of the Government’s broader strategy to promote energy access, combat climate change, and stimulate economic growth through renewable energy development.

MIRACLE ON THE VOINJAMA-ZORZOR HIGHWAY.

August 28, 2025.

Several employees of the Lofa County Health Team narrowly escaped death today following a serious car accident involving their vehicle.

The incident occurred this morning on the Voinjama-Zorzor highway, between Luyeama and Konia, when the vehicle, carrying 11 individuals, suffered brake failure. The group was on a joint field trip to assess various medical facilities in the county.

Among those on board were County Human Resources Director Max. Ngaima Momo, Curran Lutheran Hospital's Pharmacist Dr. Peter D. Wreh, CRS representative Helen Sherman, and several other health team members, including a 5-year-old girl, Mariam G. Dolo, and her mother, Lawuo Kokulo, along with their driver, Philip Tokpa.

Fortunately, there were no reported casualties. However, many passengers expressed their frustration, alleging that the leadership of the Lofa County Health Team risked their lives by assigning an old and defective vehicle instead of using the new ones available. "Thanks to God we survived this terrible accident," they remarked.

In response, Curran Lutheran Hospital quickly dispatched a vehicle for rescue, and all survivors are currently receiving minor treatments at the Konia Health Center.

Due to patient privacy concerns, we are unable to share images of the individuals receiving care. For further updates, please stay tuned or contact the Konia Health Center.
