Today in Quake History: June 3, 1997 - released their "Greatest Hits" album. The album featured the hit singles "More Than A Feeling", "Long Time", "Don't Look Back" and the group's only #1 single "Amanda", along with album classics "Feelin Satisfied" and "Rock & Roll Band".

Since its release, the compilation album has sold over 2 million copies in the US and 4.5 million worldwide.

's 1975 Gibson Les Paul, one of the most historically significant guitars in rock and roll, sold for $512,000 as part of the "Music Icons" series from auction house Julien's, a two-day live auction which took place on May 29 and May 30 at Hard Rock Cafe Times Square in New York City.

From the very beginning of his career, this instrument, which was expected to fetch between $400,000 and $600,000, was Frehley's constant companion, accompanying him on stage and in the studio with KISS more than any other guitar in his arsenal. His longtime use of this Gibson Les Paul has earned Frehley a place on nearly every "Top 10 Les Paul Players Of All Time" list ever published.

will release a new book entitled Kiss Destroyer: The Definitive Visual History on Oct. 27.

As you can probably tell by the title, the 272-page book takes an in-depth look at the creation of the band's first platinum-selling studio album, 1976's Destroyer and the tour that followed its release.

The book will contain new interviews and a track-by-track deep dive into the band's first platinum studio album.
