Last month, members from Palmdale Chapter 296 held a rally outside district offices to advocate for equitable salary increases. In response to Palmdale Unified contracting out paraprofessional positions, nearly 200 members demonstrated in solidarity.

“CSEA has clearly stated that we want nothing more than what is deserved — a livable wage, not minimum wage,” Chapter President Helena Perkins told the Antelope Valley Press. “We are asking the District to engage in fair bargaining, conclude the negotiations and execute CSEA’s request.”

I want to know why the Palmdale City Council decided while the duly elected mayor was out of town, to eliminate his position? They've made it so that he can't run again. The council has decided they will take turns being Mayor. As far as I know, (at least for now) this is still a free country! The majority of 150k , people in this city voted for Steve Hofbauer. They probably will again. As he's a vast improvement over the mayor we had in the years prior. This council is completely void of scruples.
