Today starts the Dallas International Guitar Festival. I have missed this "hometown" extravaganza for many years due to my 50 years of constant touring(Bonnie Raitt, John Prine, Chris Isaak, Stephen Curtis Chapman, Brothers Beckham, Julio Iglesias, Blackhorse...on & on). But it is with Extreme pleaser to announce that I shall be(hanging up my baby booties) mixing my final Festival tomorrow night(Sat-May 4), The Super Guitar Jam W/dear friend Jimmy Wallace and a Herd of the finest Guitar pickers this Planet has to offer. One thing I learned while attending the Grammy's on the Hill event for many years, was that almost all of our elected politicians hate one thing more than any other,...and that is "having to meet and talk with their constituents"!! There is only 1 common denominator . $$$$$ in Government!!!

Doing my favorite thing, mixing a very special album project,…all analog (2" to 1/2"). the band?? They are two young brothers from "rural" Arkansas who have grown up steeped in "Blind Faith", "Cream", et al. a treasure to work with,… and when the album is ready, then I'll have the honor of mixing them on tour. Can't wait till the festival stages,…cause that's where they're headed…..more to come.

Sorry folks for the lack of being here...lots to keep up with, while bouncing in and out from the road. I'm standing here in Boston at Fenway Park (2nd base) setting up for a show with Bonnie and James Taylor...sold out...45,000. What a day and what a night,... what life is all about...work,...play...Wally,..and the Green Monster.

Being out in the country, we end up with numerous abandoned critters...this morning (5:30am, as an enormous storm rattled me out of bed), an almost drowned feral kitten cuddled in an inch deep puddle of rain, decided to join the family...and the glass ni**le.

Motherless feral kitten bonding with its sleepy eyed, 5:30am storm-rising human food server. I got to him in about an inch deep puddle, huddled up and yelping away. His little sister was recovered the next evening and now they have a wonderful new family

21 yrs. ago in Paris, a nice man sat down beside me in Orly Airport. We were on a flight to the coast of Spain for a large festival. He was playing with Neil Young and I was mixing Chris Isaak. 2 weeks ago, in Wash. D. C. it happened again, at The Grammys on the Hill gathering. We replayed the story and we laughed(amazed) that we could still remember that long ago.... I can't imagine anyone forgetting the day that they got to meet, talk, laugh, fly and hear the great Booker T. Jones. Amen!!

Well, the Grammy Gathering at the Four Season's SXSW was it's usual great time. Got to see lots of great friends and me...

Well, the Grammy Gathering at the Four Season's SXSW was it's usual great time. Got to see lots of great friends and meet some wonderful new ones. Old friend Chris Bell (he was a young man in community college when we met) helped me start this studio, before he took off to kick-ass everywhere else. Great to hang again, brother.
