On Friday, September 25, several protesters were seen near the intersection between Palo Alto High and Town & Country Village. Protesters held signs with the common message “This Is Fascism.” One protester said the demonstration was intended to encourage young people to “take back power” in the November 2026 election and urged voters to support Democratic candidates. The protester criticized President Donald Trump’s administration, citing the war in Iran, rising gas and grocery prices, cuts to health care and food assistance, and what they described as efforts to restrict universities. The protester said these issues demonstrated the need for young people to “put a check on him” and “stop this.”
